Wendy Root Askew is a long-time champion of women, families, and youth in Monterey County.
As Education Trustee, Wendy has expanded early childhood education and championed safe and healthy schools.
County Experience: As an aide to current Supervisor Jane Parker, Wendy is deeply involved with serving the needs of every District 4 community, with a focus on affordable housing, crime prevention,
and economic development.
Wendy’s Monterey County roots run deep. The daughter of an educator and Army veteran born at Ft. Ord, Wendy grew up in the County attending local public schools. Wendy earned a BS in Business Administration from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. She returned home to found, manage, and direct a local nonprofit providing early childhood development and parent education programs for local families.
Wendy currently resides in Marina with her young son and her husband, Dominick.
